They have very good Chemistry on screen and as well as off screen. In this year the news spread that they split but in some occasions people saw them together and they are just like the same as they were before and they still contact each other on phone. From this we came to know that all those news were rumors that were deliberately spread around for the goodwill of their very latest film "Jab We Met" which was released on Oct 26th, 20.

Sanjay Dutt

Posted by Ahmad Ali at 9:13 AM

Sanjay Dutt, also known as "Sanju Baba" among his fan circles is one of the most versatile actors the Indian Film Industry has ever seen. From serious roles in movies such as "Vaastav" and "Shootout at Lokhandwala" to comedy roles in "Munnabhai M.B.B.S." and "Lage Raho Munnabhai", Sanjay has practically done it all. The actor has also indulged in playback singing in movies like “Kaante”. His pals and his co stars look up to him as an icon and has huge fan followings across the globe. With a towering 6 foot 2 inch frame, he has always been projected as the macho man and the bad boy of Bollywood.

It all started when Sanjay Dutt was born on July 29, 1959 to Bollywood's power couple Sunil and Nargis Dutt. Sanjay had his first brush with acting when he as a child artist played a role in his father's 1971 movie "Reshma Aur Shera". He debuted as an actor in 1981 in the movie "Rocky" which was a big hit, however it did not give him star status. Trouble has always courted Sanjay Dutt and it seemed to follow him throughout his career .

Sanjay developed an addiction towards drugs during his years at Lawrence School in Sanawar and when his mother passed away right before the release of “Rocky”, the actor went into a drugged world. Sanjay was sent to Texas, United States for a rehabilitation program to battle his drug addiction. A sober Sanjay Dutt started to pave his path in the film industry after returning to India.

In 1987, he married a small time actress Richa Sharma but the couple separated after the birth of his daughter Trishala. To make matters worse, after Richa expired due to brain tumour, he lost the custody of his daughter to his in-laws. As he steadily built his career with hits such as "Sadak", he received his first Filmfare nomination for his role in the movie "Saajan" in 1991.

Throughout his career Sanjay has had trysts with law, with him being on the wrong side more often than not. When one of his movies “Khalnayak” was released, he was arrested by the police in connection with the 1993 Mumbai bombings. Coincidentally, the actor portrayed a villainous role in the movie. The film went on becoming a big hit and was the big breakthrough in Sanjay’s career. He spent 18 months in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail following his arrest but received plenty of support from his fans and the film industry. Upon Sanjay’s release from prison in 1995, the actor married model Rhea Pillai. He developed a “macho man” image and built a fan following with excellent acting in movies such as “Vaastav”.

His portrayal of a gangster in “Vastaav” earned him tons of awards. Tragedy struck again when he separated from his wife Rhea Pillai and in the same year his father Sunil Dutt passed away. Still, after going through so many shocks during the course of his career, he maintained his quality acting skills and continued to impress with movies like “Munnabhai M.B.B.S.”., after which fans lovingly began to call him Munna Bhai. The actor also ventured into the line of production and formed a production company called “White Feather Films”.

Sanjay continued to prove his versatility with the super hit comic “Lage Raho Munnabhai” and the action movie “Shootout at Lokhandwala”, another feather in the cap of his production company. In November 2006, the actor was yet again arrested for possession of illegal arms and in the epic trial that followed, his bail was extended many times. In 2007, he was sentenced to 6 years of rigorous imprisonment. Despite all his legal troubles, the fans and film industry have continued to support him, perhaps because every time he faces a setback, he claws back and manages to rebuild his career.

The list of awards this revelled actor has received is long. He received the IIFA Award for Artistic Excellence and the Filmfare Best Actor award for his role in Vaastav. For Munnabhai MBBS, he won the Filmfare Best Actor in a Comic Role Award. He also had various nominations for Lage Raho Munnabhai, Kante, Mission Kashmir and Parineeta.

Anil Kapoor

Posted by Ahmad Ali at 9:12 AM

Anil Kapoor is one of the most established and versatile actors of Bollywood today. One of the very few heroes who have ever kept a moustache and been popular with it, Anil Kapoor has created a niche for himself in the industry such that at the age of 46 is well above the new breed of heroes and has always been respected despite the ruling Khans. Anil himself belongs to a family that has been well-versed in the film industry. He was born on the 24th of December, 1959 in Mumbai to film producer Surinder Kapoor, who is a cousin of the legendary Raj Kapoor, and Nirmala Kapoor. Anil was brought up in Mumbai with elder brother Bonney Kapoor who is now an established film producer and younger brother Sanjay Kapoor who is now an actor in Bollywood. He did his schooling from the Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School and graduation from St. Xavier’s College. He then went to the Pune Film and T.V Institute of India to learn the nuances of acting and pursue his dream of becoming an actor.

Anil’s career of almost a 100 films began in 1979 with small supporting roles in movies, such as Hamare Tumhare and Shakti. However, the movie that got him into the limelight as a hero was Woh Saat Din in 1983. He essayed the role of a simpleton with panache in this movie and most people actually confuse Woh Saat Din to be his first movie. Woh Saat Din was the first and a very lucky feather in his cap and won him films with top film makers such as Yash Chopra and Subhash Ghai. Anil won his first Filmfare award in 1984 with his very next film Mashal. The award was for a role as a supporting actor. He seemed to rule the 1980s with memorable movies such as Meri Jung, Karma, and Chameli Ki Shaadi. One his biggest hits in 1987 and remarkable movies in the history of Indian cinema was Mr. India. The movie took him to the heights of stardom. The glorious 1980s ended with the commendable Tezaab, Parinda, Eeshwar, and Ram Lakhan. Anil won his first Filmfare award as the best actor for Tezaab in 1988.

The 1980s were not just good for Anil on the career front but also on the personal front. Anil got married to girlfriend Sunita in 1984. For a person who loves and adores his family, Anil was blessed with a daughter, Sonam, in 1985. After Sonam, the couple had another daughter Rhea and a son Harshavardhan. Sonam is soon going to seen on the big screen in a much awaited movie Saanwariya by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

The 1990s were a mixed bag in Anil’s career. From 1990 to 1996 Anil did a lot of movies, many of which were not successful at the box office. Though, a few of his movies released during this period also became hits, such as Beta that won him the Filmfare best actor award in 1992, 1942- A Love Story, and Trimurti. From 1997 to 1999, Anil did some very memorable movies, such as Virasat, Judaai, and Biwi No. 1 which became hits at the box office. The power-packed performance in a unique role in Virasat, won Anil the Filmare Critics Award for the best actor. Anil was never an actor for a season and his success story continued in 2000 with an incomparable performance in Pukaar for which he won a National award in 2001. From 2000 to 2007 Anil has worked in almost 19 movies that have tasted mixed fortune at the office.

Anil finally turns producer with the movie Gandhi, My Father. Let’s now wait and watch whether the actor for all seasons and genres also turns out to be a successful producer – we hope he does!

Rajnikanth

Posted by Ahmad Ali at 9:11 AM

He worked as a bus conductor, he is now the highest paid actor in India receiving upto 16 crores for his latest movie; he is a popular action hero, melodrama king, a comedian, a villain, a scriptwriter, and even a producer, he is worshipped like god by his audience; and to top it all he is 56 years of age! Who other than the superstar of south Indian film industry, Rajnikanth, can pull all this off! If it’s the Big B in Bollywood, then it’s the Big R down south.

Rajnikanth, originally christened Sivaji Rao Gaewad, was born to Marathi couple Ramoji Rao and Jijabai on the 12th of December, 1950 in Bangalore. Rajnikanth studied at the Acharya Pathshala and Vivekananda Balak Sangh. However, apparently he had to leave school in between because his family was not very well off. He started doing petty jobs, such as that of a bus conductor, to earn a living. But Rajnikanth loved acting so he also did stage plays with his jobs. It was at this time when a friend helped Rajnikanth to join the Chennai Film Institute to polish his inherent talent and learn the nuances of acting.

Rajnikanth’s three decade long innings as an actor started with a Kannada movie Katha Sangama in 1975. He was soon noticed by director K. Balchander who gave Sivaji Rao his first role in the Tamil movie Apoorva Raagangal in 1975 and also christened him Rajnikanth. The role must have been small but it was the initiation point of a miracle in Tamil movies. For around 4 years Rajnikanth worked as a successful villain in Tamil movies, such as Moondru Mudichu and Avargal. He also worked in some Telugu and Kannad movies during this period. However, his potential in essaying emotional roles was not yet identified by the Tamil film industry.

Rajnikanth got his first major role as an emotional hero in Aarilirunthu Arubathu Varai in 1979, which was a box office hit. Thereafter, from 1980 to early 1990s he showed commendable performances in numerous Tamil movies, particularly remakes of Hindi movies starring Amitabh Bachchan. He not only became the melodrama king but also excelled as an action hero. His popularity was recently proved when his latest movie Sivaji: The Boss opened to full theaters this summer in Tamil and Telegu. Despite, being one of the most expensive movies ever made in India, Rajnikanth’s 100th Tamil movie is a hit at the box office!

While his career front was climbing the ladder of success, there were developments on the personal front too. He got married to a very educated lady, Latha, from a respectable family in 1981. Rajni and Latha have two daughters Aishwarya and Soundarya who are settled in their lives.

Rajnikanth is not a just versatile actor in Tamil cinema but you can call him a multi-linguist actor. He has more than 160 movies in languages other than Tamil! These include Hindi, Bengali, telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. In fact one of his Tamil movies Muthu has also been dubbed in Japanese. Surprisingly, he had also bagged a role in a Hollywood movie Bloodstone as early as in 1988. In addition, this multi-faceted personality has also been successful as a script writer and a producer. In the 1990s, Rajnikanth also forayed into politics switching between supporting DMK-TMC alliance and at other times AIADMK-BJP alliance.

As his versatility grew, so did his fan following. After MGR, he was the only one to be loved to the limit of worship by his fans. Apart from great fan following, Rajnikanth’s talent has been rewarded in various forms. The Tamil Nadu Government has bestowed him with the best actor award four times during his career. He has also won the Filmfare award for best actor in regional cinema for the movie Nallavanuku Nallavan in 1984. This epitome of success has also been awarded the very respectable Padmabhusan for his contribution to Indian cinema.

Rajnikanth has not just received goodness from the society but done a lot of good for the society apart from being an entertainer. He donated a large amount to Coimbatore blast relief fund, has planned to construct a school and hospital for the needy, and even paid back distributors for the flop Baba! A gem of an actor and a gem of person – that is Rajnikanth for you.

Abhishek Bachchan

Posted by Ahmad Ali at 9:10 AM

An illustrious son of iconic parents is actor Abhishek Bachchan. Girls swoon over his debonair personality and looks and boys are forever inspired by his style. From a time when critics were ready to write him off just as another star son with no talent, to today when he has succeeded like success, Abhishek Bachchan has come a long way.

Abhishek’s family needs to introduction considering his family name. He is the son of superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bahaduri. He was born on the 5th of February, 1976 in Mumbai. He has inherited the height and deep voice from his father, mischief from mother Jaya “Guddi” Bahaduri, and the best of mannerisms and looks from both. Abhishek loves his family. His sister Shweta is married to Nikhil Nanda who is a known personality in the business circles and the son of Ritu Nanda, the daughter of Raj Kapoor. Shweta has two children Navya Naveli and Agastya, who Abhishek dotes on.

Being the son of the Big B, Abhishek and sister Shweta have had a lavish but protective childhood. Abhishek has studied from some the best schools in India and abroad. He started his schooling from Bombay Scottish, Jamnabai Narsee schools in Mumbai and Modern School in New Delhi, and finally did high school from Aiglon College in Switzerland. He then decided to graduate in business from the Harvard University in the United States but left it midway to return to India and start his innings as an actor.

Abhishek’s first film was a much speculated affair in the industry circles and the audience. He was the son of the Big B and his launch pad had to be the best. After a lot of proposals, Abhishek was finally launched by JP Dutta in the movie Refugee in 2000. The film was a serious love story based in the backdrop of a disturbed border area. The movie was not a huge success at the box office but Abhishek’s performance did not go unnoticed, particularly by the critics. Post Refugee, he was deluged with offers.

From 2000 to 2004, we saw him various movies that did not have the ticket counters ringing. These included movies, such as Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya, Om Jai Jagdish, LOC Kargil, Main Prem Mi Diwani Hoon, and Kuch Naa Kaho. Whether it was the wrong choice of movies or plain bad luck, none of the movies did any good to him and similar to the case of his father’s career, the industry people were on the verge of writing him off. This was when Mani Ratnam came to his rescue and gave Abhishek the first negative but strong performance of his career in his movie Yuva in 2004. Suddenly Abhishek Bachchan won the Filmfare award for the best supporting actor!

Yuva was the initiation of a good period in Abhishek’s career and was followed up by successful movies from 2004 to 2007 such as Dhoom, Bunty Aur Bubli, Sarkar, Dus, Bluffmaster, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Dhoom 2, Guru, and Jhoom Barabar Jhoom being the most recent. His comic timing was appreciated in movies such as Bunty Aur Bubli and Bluffmaster whereas his potential to essay serious roles was proved in movies such as Sarkar and Guru. In addition to acting, being his dad’s son, how could he not have been tempted to sing! Abhishek has also lent his voice to two songs in the movies Bluffmaster and Dhoom and has been appreciated for this.

Apart from developments on the career front from 2000 to 2007, there were also developments on the personal front for Abhishek. Over these seven years, the most eligible bachelor has now become a married man. Abhishek was initially engaged to Karishma Kapoor. The engagement was announced on Big B’s 60th birthday amidst much celebrations and gaiety. However, the engagement was called off within four months for reasons which are still unknown to the public. Although, the relationships between the Bachchans and the Kapoors were soured, Abhishek moved on with his life soon to fall in love with one of the most beautiful women in the world and his co-star in quite a few movies, Aishwarya Rai. The relationship was kept under wraps for a long time till finally they got engaged in January 2007. The lovely couple got married on 20th of April 2007 in a private ceremony at the Bachchan’s home.

Post marriage and a fabulous honeymoon to Europe, Abhishek is back to work as the audience awaits his movies Drona and Laga Chunari Mein Daag this year.

Sunny Deol

Posted by Ahmad Ali at 9:08 AM

Sunny Deol has inherited the drop-dead Greek god looks and the punch-you-in-the-face action star image from his father. In one scene, his innocence would make him look so gullible and in the next shot he would be a convincing savior for the heroin. One of the most versatile actors in Bollywood, I am talking about Sunny Deol, the son of the legendary Dharmendra.

Sunny, originally christened Ajay Singh Deol is the first born of Dharmendra from his first wife Prakash Kaur. Ajay aka. Sunny was born in New Delhi on the 19th of October, 1956. Sunny did his schooling from Sacred Heart Boys’ High School, Mumbai. However, academics were surely not going to be his cup of tea and so he was off to Birmingham to study acting at the Old Web Theater. The one who had gone to England was a raw lad with a wish to live up to his legendary father’s reputation and the one who returned was to become one of Bollywood’s most dependable actors.

Sunny started his career with the superhit, Betaabi, in 1983. The movie had memorable music and good performances by the lead couple Sunny and Amrita Singh. The audience loved Sunny as a romantic hero in this movie and he was also nominated for the filmfare best actor award for the movie. Unfortunately, post Betabi his career saw a dry spell and the film pundits were trying hard to close his chapter in the industry when he came back with a bang in his new incarnation. His new incarnation was that of an action hero in the movie Arjun in 1985. The action genre films then became his forte and he scored hits such as Ghayal, Tridev, Ghatak, Border, and India. Ghayal won him the Filmfarwe award for the best actor. However, the dare-devil Punjabi lad, famous for his punch, was not to stick to his genre and experimented with romantic roles as well.

Some of his successful movies in romantic roles include Gadar – Ek Prem Katha, Chaalbaaz, Darr, and the commendable Damini. For his tremendous performance in Damini, he deserved nothing less than the national award. In 2007, Sunny was seen in the movie Apne with brother Bobby and father Dharmendra. The trio have appeared together for the first time in a movie. Apne was received very well by the audience. In 2007, he will also been seen in the movies Fool n Final and Big Brother. In 2008, he will be doing a sequel to his very popular movie Ghayal.

Its funny, but one thing common to all his movies is that they do not have any major dance performances by Sunny. Unfortunately, he has two left feet and he realized that when he tried his hands, or better so feet, at dancing in the movie Jeet. Another noticeable commonality in Sunny’s movie has been his fervor to promote nationalism or patriotism through his movies. He has acted in numerous movies that are particularly on the theme of patriotism such as Border, Jo Bole So Nihaal, 23rd March 1931: Shaheed, India, and The Hero: Love Story of a True Spy.

As sunny the actor excelled with time, Sunny the director was born. Sunny’s first directorial venture was a very soft movie Dillagi. The movie starred Sunny and younger brother and established actor Bobby Deol in reel life roles as brothers. You would be surprised to know that the names chosen for Sunny and Bobby in this film are actually the names of Sunny’s two sons from his wife Pooja – Ranvir and Rajvir. Despite rumors of an apparent affair with Dimple Kapadia and then proximity with Raveena Tandon, Sunny and Pooja still seem to be together.

Sunny loves acting and had proved to be a veteran actor in the action and romantic genre of Hindi cinema. Lately, he has also become much less shy of the media than he used to be. The audience is expecting to enjoy his acting for a long long time to come.

Govinda

Posted by Ahmad Ali at 9:07 AM

A hearty wide smile, jazzy clothes, rhythmically tapping feet, and a happy-go-lucky attitude is what describes the popular actor Govinda. Govinda is an actor, comedian, dancer, and politician all rolled into one pleasant personality whom the masses love. Born on the 21st of December 1963 and brought up in Virar (for which he is often addressed as Virar ka Chhokra in the media circles), he was christened Govind Arun Ahuja by his parents. His family was not alien to Bollywood. His father, Arun Kumar Ahuja was a film producer and his elder brother Kirti Kumar, is an actor, director, and producer. Govinda has inherited his melodious voice from his mother Nirmala Devi, who was herself a talented singer. He had the highest regards for his mother who lovingly called him Chi Chi. She was also the one who chose his life partner, Sunita. Govinda has often mentioned during interviews that he can never think of hurting his wife because she is his mother’s choice. Govinda and Sunita have a daughter, Narmada, and son Yashovardhan.

Govinda owns a credit of over a 120 Hindi movies. He began his innings in 1985-86 with the box office success Illzam. Some other moderately successful films followed from 1986-1988 of which Hatya, directed by his brother Kirti Kumar, was the most successful. In all these movies Govinda utilized his dancing skills for which he was also known as the modern jumping jack. His role was more of an emotional, melodramatic hero in these films. Till this time, his potential as an actor and particularly as a comedian had gone unnoticed. It was the beginning of the Govinda-David Dhawan collaboration in the 1990s that introduced and established Govinda as a comedy hero. The audience loved Govinda in his new reel incarnation.

The Govinda-David Dhawan collaboration of around 17 movies surprisingly started in 1989 with an action movie Taaqatwar. The comic series began with Shola Aur Shabnam in 1992 and was strengthened with Aankhein in 1993. Other movies that followed from the David Dhawan clan were Raja Babu with Karisma Kapoor, Coolie No. 1 with Karisma, Saajan Chale Sasural with Tabu and Karisma, Hero No. 1 with Karisma, Haseena Maan Jaegi with Sanjay Dutt and Karisma, and so on. He ruled the 1990s as a comedy hero with his last successful film as Jodi No. 1 in 2000 after which he saw a downwards trend in his career. This could have probably been due to his rejection of roles in some movies, such as Taal, Devdas, Gadar, and Biwi No. 1, which went on to become superhits.

During this low period, Govinda entered into politics and joined the Congress party. Owing his fan following and the masses’ love for Govinda, he was elected to the Lok Sabha. However, with some serious allegations of lack of responsibility during the deadly 2005 Mumbai rains and upsetting his party his career as a politician did not touch the skies.

The credit of 120 movies has also brought with itself numerous nominations and some prestigious awards for Govinda, such as the Filmfare award for best actor in a comic role for Haseena Maan Jaegi and a special Filmfare awrd for the movie Sajan Chale Sasural. . In addition, in an online survey held to discover the top 10 greatest stars of stage and screen of the last 1000 years, he was a part of the list at number 10 with names of such high stature as Charlie Chaplin and our very own Amitabh Bachchan. Govinda also has the honor of being compared to Amitabh Bachchan for playing a large number of double roles in his movies.

Govinda also had a short and not a very successful innings as a game show anchor on television. He hosted the show Jeeto Chappar Phaad Ke on Zee TV. However, he is now back on big screen with a bang. His two comic movies Bhagam Bhag and Partner have proved successful and as home coming for this extremely talented actor.

Sunil Shetty or Suniel Shetty ? Both are same. It is the effect of numerology. Born on Aug 11, 1961 in Mangalore, Karnataka, Sunil Shetty changed his name to Suniel Shetty, hoping that his bollywood fortunes will change. Though he is a successful business man, Shetty, Sunil love for acting in Bollywood movies, brought him to Hindi films, rather than his native state’s Kannada films. Shahrukh Khan

Posted by Ahmad Ali at 8:24 AM

Unconventionally good looking, exuberant, energetic, and multi-faceted are just the right words to describe the very popular actor, producer, playback singer, and TV anchor, Shahrukh Khan. He is one of the most popular and loved Bollywood stars, who has been compared to the likes of legendary actors Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan. He has reigned Bollywood since early 1990s and with his never-say-die attitude and love for movies he is expected to stay at the top for long. His life has been just like one of his melodramatic family movies with happiness, love, pain, success, failures, and more success.

Shahrukh Khan was born on the 2nd of November, 1965. He was brought up with his sister Shehnaz, lovingly known as Lalarukh, by their Muslim, pathan parents. His parents were originally from Pakistan but were based in Delhi’s Rajinder Nagar area post partition.

Very bright and energetic as a child, Shahrukh Khan was an all-rounder during his school days at St. Columbus. His school applauded his excellence in academics, sports, and extra-curricular activities (obviously read ‘drama’!) by awarding him the Sword of Honour. He completed schooling in 1985 and joined Economics (Hons.) course in the well-known Hansraj college, Delhi University. He was actively involved in the college dramatics society. Apart from college and dramatics, another thing that he was actively involved in was the love of his life, Gauri Chibber. He met Gauri, about five years younger to him and now his wife, at a common party. After a long affair and almost a Dilwale Dulhaniye Le Jaenge kind of ‘wooing the family’ gig Shahrukh finally married Gauri in 1991. During the period between 1988 and 1991, he was involved in his Mass communication (Film making) course at Jamia Milia Islamiya University for a year and doing theater with Barry John. This was approximately the same time at which he began his career as an actor.

Not many people would know but Shahrukh Khan’s first occupation was as a restaurateur. He opened up a small restaurant in Darya Gang area of Delhi but fortunately called quits and chose acting. Shahrukh Khan started his inimitable acting innings on television with an inconsequential role in the serial Dil Dariya as a Sikh boy. Dil Dariya was followed by a more powerful and noticeable performance in the serial Fauji in 1988. A few more serials, such as Circus, followed Fuaji until Shahrukh Khan got his first golden chance in bollywood through the movies Deewana and Dil Ashna Hai in 1992.

Deewana went along to become a hit and Shahrukh Khan hit it off with the audience. The emotion-packed performances in Dil Ashna Hai, Deewana, and Chamatkar were followed by the power-packed performances in negative roles in the movies Darr, Anjaam, and Baazigar. Baazigon got him the much coveted Filmfare award for the best actor – his first claim to fame in the popular cinema category! Very early in his career, apart from the masses, he also became a favorite with the critics with movies such as Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. His fan following increased manifolds in 1995 with the inimitable love saga Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaenge. Success followed in the form of some memorable movies from 1997 to 2006, such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil Se, Devdas, Main Hoon Na, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, and Don.

A few flops were also a part of his career but his fans must have forgotten those in comparison to the superhits that he has delivered. His much awaited movie in 2007 is Chak De India in which he carries a new mature look as the coach of the Women’s hockey team of India – the promos of the movie sure seem promising as ever! Over his acting career spanning over 15 years, he has probably won awards in all suitable categories – best debut, best actor, best actor (critic), and best villain. The love that his fans bestow upon him became evident when he was voted as the most searched for Bollywood actor on the Internet! He has also won awards and recognition at national level, which include Rajiv Gandhi Award for Excellence in the Field of Entertainment and the Padma Shri. At the international level, his popularity became evident when his wax statute was set up at the respectable Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.

While Shahrukh Khan’s career was climbing the ladder of success with every passing year, on the family front his happiness knew no bounds when Aryan and Suhana were born to Shahrukh and Gauri Khan in 1997 and 2000 respectively. A doting, protective, and indulgent father, Shahrukh Khan was recently in news for gifting a luxury car to his son. Although family life has been full of pleasure for him his health has not really been with him. He was operated for a severe back and neck problem in London a few years back. The blessings and love of his fans find him in good health today with his never ending flow of energy.

Acting is not Sharukh Khan’s only forte. He has also set up twp production houses Dreamz Unlimited and Red Chillies Entertainment. Dreamz Unlimited was setup in collaboration with Juhi Chawla and Aziz Mirza and produced movies including Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Asoka and Chalte Chalte. Kaal and Paheli were the products of Red Chillies Entertainment. Shakrukh Khan’s love for versatility also encouraged him to sing in his movies Josh and Don. His fans loved his deep uncanny way of signing was as much appreciated by his fans as his acting – after all it was the king of Bollywood singing! Not many would know that he has also directed stunts for some of his movies including Main Hoon Na, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and the upcoming Chak De India.

Shahrukh khan is an actor par excellence and loved by millions of fans across the world. He recently returned to television with the extremely popular show Kaun Banega Crorepati, as Amitabh Bachchan’s successor. Despite comparisons with his predecessor, criticism, he managed to impress the television audience just as he had done during his Fauji days. His charm and zeal defies the conventional image of a successful hero in Indian cinema and has made him one of the most popular personalities in the world. The saddest incidents of his life have been the death of his father in 1981 and mother in 1991. Although the loss cannot be compensated but it is their blessings for their talented son that have brought him this far and will keep him going.

She was regarded as a tomboy and spent most of her times with boys. Since the schools were Hindi medium, she could not speak English until she was 16 years of age. She subsequently not only mastered English, but became an English Honors student, and also obtained a degree in Journalism. Due to her place of birth she can speak Urdu flawlessly.

Her first public appearance was at the Air Force Club Contest at the age of 15. She did a few fashion shows thereafter. Then during 1994 she decided to be a participant in Miss India beauty pageant, fully aware that she was being pitted against the reigning favorite, Aishwarya Rai. Sushmita took everyone by surprise when she was crowned Miss India while Aishwarya had to content with being the First Runner-up. Both beauties went on to win Miss Universe and Miss World titles respectively. Ironically the final outfit for Miss Universe for Sushmita was made by a little-known Meena Bazar tailor, and her mom.

It was during 1996 that she first appeared as herself in a Bollywood movie titled 'Dastak'. Though the movie did not fare too well, she was noticed and thus began her career on the silver screen. She has since then portrayed herself in a variety of characters and also some 'item' numbers.

Not considered a classic beauty and leading quite an unconventional lifestyle she ended up in many relationships but did not marry anyone. She wanted to be a mother and to adopt a baby girl, and name her Renee. Since she is single, she had to fight a Court battle before she could finally adopt Renee. Personal Quotes:

"I have many memorable moments in my treasure-chest of memories but the day I became a mother is something special. On June 30, 2000 the courts handed me my daughter, Renee. I was ecstatic that day. I loved Renee from the first time I laid eyes on her. In court the fight was a tough one as I was a single parent and a celebrity, so those were marks against me. But I still won and got my daughter." (Movie Mag International, July 2004).

"I am totally a beach person. I love South America and I've been there lots of times, specially Venezuela and Brazil. They are great vacation cities. There is not a single country in South America that I have not been to. Among the places I haven't seen but which I would love to visit, Spain tops my list." (Movie Mag International, July 2004).

"Yes, I am a night person but I prefer staying awake at home till late at night. I rarely go to any pub. I would rather hang out at home with loud music and dance in my room. Abroad I love going to restaurants like 'Sky Bar' in Los Angeles and 'Tao' in New York." (Movie Mag International, July 2004).

Her thoughts about touring: "Doing these kind of shows take a lot of planning and activity and ends up being extremely hectic. So to revive myself, I look for those small moments that make you forget the rigors of the tour." (Lifeline magazine, Fall 2006).

"Between 18 to 20, I really thought there were fun things in life that I would much rather be doing than worrying about the responsibilities of that magnitude. But now at 30, I feel I was able to get a jump-start on my life and have achieved a lot. I don't feel I missed out anything." (Lifeline magazine, Fall 2006).

"I feel I started my life when I won at Goa - The Miss India contest. Then another memorable moment was when I won the Miss Universe crown in Manila. There have been several others. But none of those moments compare to what I felt on July 31 in 2001. That was when the court gave me Renee's adoption rights. Renee means "to be born again", and after having her in my life, I feel reborn. I don't want anything to go wrong for her ever. So I am that much more careful with my life now. No more rash driving. Being a mother, I don't think anything has topped the moment yet." (Lifeline magazine, Fall 2006).

"The reason why I wanted to be famous! No one's asked me that one so I am going to tell it now. I have always thought that a person is born, lives his life, goes through life in a certain way, maybe does some good things that everyone applauds... maybe your family, maybe your friends. But when you die, you want to have touched a few more lives. You want people to feel the loss when you go and miss you. I want to be famous because I want my fans to become my extended family." (Lifeline magazine, Fall 2006).

On how she would react if a woman made a pass on her: "I'd say, 'thank you'. Another human being likes you, what's wrong with that? How far they like you is again, their problem, not yours. That woman has made a choice of being with another woman, I have made mine to be with a man. It's just a difference in our sexual preferences. Doesn't mean one is acceptable and the other is appalling. Absolutely not!" (Stardust magazine, September 2006).

"If the need arises and my heart doesn't agree with it (marriage), I will have children without getting married." (Stardust magazine, September 2006).

"Today if you take a poll asking men if they want to be with women who are 30 and virgins, they will run away." (Stardust magazine, September 2006).

When asked if sex is over-rated in India: "There was a time when it definitely was, not anymore. It was something you didn't talk about, and from the face of it, people from good families probably never did it. But today, media primarily focuses its attention on sex, so much that it's inevitable that it would become a part of the social structure. It's not like it didn't exist before, we're the land of the KamaSutra. Today, people are more comfortable talking about it." (Stardust magazine, September 2006).

"I'm 30, and enjoying every bit of it. I haven't changed a thing that I don't like wearing and the only reason I don't wear it is 'coz I don't like it on myself. I reveal when I feel like it. Today I do, tomorrow, I might not. It's about freedom of choice, not age. All power to people who understand that ultimately, clothes are going on your body. If you are comfortable with it, wear it. I'm not judgmental about the way people dress. What disturbs me however, is if after you've worn it, you're constantly talking, pulling, figuring yourself out. Thats disturbing." (Stardust magazine, September 2006).
